What is the key to a successfull BI project…?

Posted on 15/10/2008. Filed under: Business |

A BI project can not succeed if it not run by business. When such a projects are run by an IT department it will most certainly not be a success.

Why I hear you say?
Business Intelligence projects are there to provide the business with critical information regarding the current business processes and how the organization can gain that ever seeking leading edge of its competitors. Hence it is the responsibility of business decision makers to indicate which departments / divisions / processes are critical to it’s success. IT is only one of those departments and can not make such decisions for the whole of the organization – or at least it is not recommended if your aim is a successful BI project.

BI is about Business!
