ASP.NET 2.0 Data Access Tips

Posted on 18/06/2008. Filed under: Software Development |

ASP.NET 2.0 Data Access is made very easy for all.
There is just one snag which I was not able to figure out due to time constraints; that is parameters / gridview columns and DAL columns all needs to be exactly the same.
Example: When the DB column Private_Name is used it must be the same for the BLL method parameters and the gridview column. If you change it to privateName as a parameter in the BLL update methode the gridview will throw an exception specifying it can not find non-generic method with parameter Private_Name…
To modify data via the gridview control is a simple couple of clicks away.
